Starting position

Stand tall with the rope behind your heels, elbows close and handles at hip height.

  1. 1

Begin with a few basic bounces to set the rhythm.

  2. 2

Switch to stepping over the rope with one foot at a time, as if jogging in place.

  3. 3

Stay light on the balls of the feet, lifting each foot just enough to clear the rope.

  4. 4

Keep turning the rope with the wrists at a steady pace.

Breathing: Breathe steadily in time with your footwork.
